There are certain types of ?locals? that you only get to have in your village if you are very lucky indeed. The Oxford Arms is exactly that sort of village pub, with an enthusiastic following of regulars and many from further afield seeking it out in Kirtlington. Billed as a ?19th century English Pub and Eating House? the traditional stone inn boasts a very stylish and comfortable interior and very friendly staff. The food is as comforting as the surroundings, with dishes such as potted shrimps with toast, venison burgers and 28 day aged sirloin steak with hand cut chips and green peppercorn sauce on offer. The pub also serves some respected ales and has a very good wine list ? making it a lovely place to while away a few indulgent hours.
